Environment Management System

Electropoli is committed to protecting the environment through an ISO 14001-certified management system. Our approach combines continuous improvement with strict compliance to global standards, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

The policy applies across our entire value chain — from employees to partners and suppliers. Whenever our internal standards exceed local regulations, we apply the higher benchmark. Regular reviews ensure full alignment with evolving laws and best practices, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable growth.

Pollution Prevention

Electropoli takes a comprehensive and proactive approach to pollution prevention, embedding best practices across all environmental domains:

  • Water – modernized treatment stations and upgraded wastewater plants ensure fully compliant, high-quality discharge. With online monitoring and process optimization, we guarantee that water leaving our sites meets strict environmental standards.
  • Air and odors – advanced biofilters prevent odor emissions, while scrubbers and state-of-the-art filtration systems significantly reduce airborne pollutants, protecting both employees and local communities.
  • Soil and groundwater – robust spill-prevention systems and secure secondary containment safeguard our industrial sites against accidental releases, ensuring long-term protection of land and water resources.

Together, these measures form an integrated shield for the environment and surrounding communities, particularly in industrial zones where our facilities operate. This approach reflects Electropoli’s commitment not only to regulatory compliance, but also to responsible growth and environmental stewardship..

Climate Change & Energy

Our Ambitious, Pragmatic Climate Plan

At Electropoli, climate action is more than a commitment — it is a driver of efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. By combining renewable energy, advanced monitoring, and smarter processes, we are reducing our environmental footprint while strengthening long-term competitiveness.

Between 2022 and 2024, Electropoli Group reduced its carbon footprint by 47.4% (market-based) and 33.3% (location-based). These results demonstrate clear progress in line with the 1.5°C decarbonization pathway:

Our Achievements in 2024

In 2024, we reduced our environmental footprint across all key areas — and even exceeded our Group target for Scope 1 and 2, achieving a 7.0% reduction compared to the planned 6.88%.

  • Scope 1 (direct emissions): –8.5% through process improvements and energy-efficient equipment.
  • Scope 2 (purchased energy): –6.1% (location-based) and –66.5% (market-based) after switching to 100% renewable electricity at key sites.
  • Scope 3 (value chain): –12.6% thanks to more sustainable sourcing, smarter energy use, and improved waste management.

Electropoli is building the future of low-carbon, high-quality surface treatment — backed by measurable results, transparent reporting, and a clear focus on sustainable growth.

Our Actions for Climate

Electropoli consistently implements initiatives that cut CO₂ emissions, reduce resource consumption, and increase process efficiency. These actions deliver measurable environmental benefits while strengthening long-term competitiveness.

  • Energy – efficiency and heat recovery
Optimization of energy use with real-time monitoring, heat recovery from furnaces and compressors, installation of heat pumps, improved furnace insulation, and intelligent energy management systems.
  • Water – efficiency with climate benefits
Closed water loops, reverse osmosis (RO) systems, and automated flow controls reduce both water use and the energy required for treatment and pumping.
  • Chemicals – optimized processes
Reduced chemical consumption through precise process control, extended bath lifetimes, and lower acid concentrations in pickling and treatment.
  • Waste – reduced mass and volume
Evaporators and dryers cut waste generation, improve handling, and lower emissions from transport and treatment.
  • Infrastructure – modern, energy-efficient facilities
Modernization of windows, roofs, and façades with insulated sandwich panels, LED lighting, and automated HVAC systems reduces energy demand, lowers emissions, and cuts costs.
  • Renewable energy – 100% green electricity
The BB and NS plants are powered entirely by renewable electricity certified with Guarantees of Origin (GoO). Investments in PV installations and green PPAs further increase the share of clean energy in the mix.

Smarter Energy for the Future

Between 2021 and 2024, Electropoli cut total electricity consumption by 23% and reduced electricity intensity by 18% (2022–2024). These results highlight our strong focus on efficiency, resource optimization, and circular solutions.

We are investing in solar PV installations and securing renewable energy through PPAs and GoOs at our Bielsko-Biala, Nowa Sól, and Cesky Dub plants. In the Czech Republic, our sites are certified to ISO 50001, ensuring a structured approach to energy management.

With real-time energy monitoring systems rolling out across our sites, we continuously track usage, detect inefficiencies instantly, and act immediately — lowering emissions, cutting costs, and protecting against energy price volatility.

Electropoli is shaping the future of low-carbon, high-quality surface treatment — built on measurable results, transparent reporting, and a clear commitment to sustainable growth.

Resource Efficiency & Circularity

Electropoli integrates the principles of resource efficiency and the circular economy into its daily operations. Our objective is to minimize the use of raw materials and energy, extend the life cycle of resources, and reduce waste generation across all sites.

Key Actions

  • Material efficiency – optimizing chemical baths and surface treatment processes, and researching new solutions to reduce raw material consumption, lower product operating temperatures, and decrease the energy demand of electroplating baths.
  • Energy efficiency – modernizing installations, improving tank and system insulation, implementing intelligent ventilation systems, and recovering heat from production processes.
  • Circular water use – deploying recycling technologies such as evaporators and demineralization units, enabling multiple reuses of process water. Additional efforts focus on minimizing the carry-over of concentrated solutions into rinsing stages, thereby reducing the need for water renewal.
  • Waste reduction – separating, recycling production residues, with a strong emphasis on maximizing the proportion of recyclable waste.
  • Sustainable product and process design – developing new production lines in line with ECO and ENV principles, with a focus on recyclability, reduced energy demand, and minimizing the overall environmental footprint.

Water Resources

Water is a strategic resource for Electropoli Group. As a surface treatment company, we rely on water in many stages of production, but we also recognize our responsibility to minimize consumption, ensure high-quality discharge, and preserve local ecosystems.

Performance and Results

Between 2021 and 2024, total water consumption was reduced by 12.5%, while water intensity (l/m²) decreased by around 17.6%, reflecting our strong commitment to efficiency, resource optimization, and circular solutions.

Key Actions

Process optimization – water recycling, innovative evaporators, and reduced drainage duration.

Reuse & recycling – investments in evaporators and demineralization units to recover and re-use process water.

Treatment & wastewater management – upgraded water treatment stations and on-site wastewater treatment plants at all facilities ensure compliant, high-quality discharge. Pollution loads are measured regularly, with monitoring systems and autosamplers in place at selected sites. Secondary treatment systems provide additional safeguards where required.

Sustainable line design – new production lines are designed on ECO & ENV principles, emphasizing recyclability, water re-use, and minimized energy demand. The Nowa Sól EB5X modular line project is a benchmark for water-efficient production.

Water monitoring and regular audits support continuous improvement, early anomaly detection, and full regulatory compliance.

Strategic Outlook

Electropoli aims to further reduce water intensity per unit of production, expand recycling technologies, design all new investments on circular water principles, and contribute to EU objectives for sustainable resource management.
